Engineering calculations for the agricultural company Orlar

Orlar is engaged in the cultivation of all kinds of plants (such as strawberries) in special vertical “pods” in farms with night lighting.

We have reduced the weight of various structures used in the farm.

According to customer requirements, plastic pod must work for 15 years (experiencing the constant action of chemicals, germination of roots, etc.).

We have selected optimal materials and thicknesses of plastic parts to ensure durability of the pods.

The original design (in the figure) weighed about 150 kg.

We made recommendations on a possible way to reduce the weight of the structure from 150 to 80 kg.

We have developed and optimized a system that allows to automatically move the pods (at night they move to the heated areas of the greenhouse).

As of 2020, the system is in the testing phase (Vietnam).
