High-speed sailing trimaran T27

General project description

Trimaran T27 with sails and hydrofoils for commercial operation in the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic, in the Canary Islands.

We performed general stress analysis.

Hull analysis: balancing of acting forces

To determine forces acting on the hull, we created a separate mathematical program that balances all applied loads (gravity, Archimedes force, transfer of force from sail to mast and hull, forces from hydrofoils, etc.)

Hull analysis: finite element model

Finite-element modeling of the hull was carried out. Construction uses composite materials (plywood, basalt fiber, carbon fiber).

We have created a separate mathematical program that evaluates the loads transmitted from sails to the mast and trimaran hull.

An analysis of the stability of the aluminum mast was performed. Optimum mast section selected.

Current status of the project (January 2020)

The first prototype is under construction.

The construction of the central building is currently underway.
